Welcome to your 5-day journey through Uganda’s Kibale National Park dubbed “The Primate Capital of the World” and Queen Elizabeth National Park nicknamed “Medley of Wonders”! During this incredible journey, you will have the opportunity to explore two of Uganda’s most beautiful and diverse national parks. From the lush rainforests of Kibale to the open savannahs of Queen Elizabeth, you will be able to experience the very best of Uganda’s wildlife and nature. You will be able to take part in a variety of activities, such as game drives, guided walks, chimpanzee tracking, boat cruises, and more. Tour Plan

DAY 1; Transfer from Kampala to Kibale with a brief stopover in Fort Portal

Today marks the first day of our 5-day journey through Kibale National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park! We will begin our journey with a transfer from Kampala to Kibale, with a brief stopover in Fort Portal. This stopover will give us the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Fort Portal and its surrounding areas including the Tooro Palace, Mabere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves depending on time, and to get a glimpse of the beautiful Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon. We will then continue our journey to Kibale, where we will spend the night and prepare for the days ahead.

DAY 2; Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi community walk

On day 2 of our 5 Day Kibale and Queen Elizabeth Safari Tour, we will embark on a thrilling adventure to Kibale National Park, home to some of the most captivating wildlife in East Africa. We will begin our day with a chimpanzee trekking experience, where we will have the opportunity to observe these incredible primates in their natural habitat. to a wide variety of wildlife, including chimpanzees, monkeys, birds, and other animals. The park is also known for its lush tropical forests, which are home to some of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa. Kibale National Park is a great destination for nature lovers, offering an incredible opportunity to observe and explore the incredible wildlife and natural beauty of Uganda.

 

After our trekking experience, we will take a guided walk on a raised palated trail through the Bigodi lush green Wetland sanctuary, learning about the local culture and the importance of conservation in the area. Visitors should look out for chimpanzees although not so many, mangabeys, grey checked monkeys, olive baboons, bush pigs, sitatungas, L'hoest's monkeys, vervet monkeys, mongooses, and bushbucks. Bigodi is a birding paradise thus birders and tourists could spot over 130 bird species in the sanctuary which include papyrus gonolek, grey-throated, yellow-billed, yellow-spotted and double- toothed barbets, speckled, yellow-rumped and yellow-throated tinker barbets, yellow-bill, and black- and-white casqued hornbill. This will be an unforgettable experience that will leave us with a greater appreciation for the beauty and diversity of the region. Bigodi wetland sanctuary being a community project, money from the sanctuary flows back into the local area to build schools, support women's groups, and improve water and waste management access.

DAY 3; Transfer to Queen Elizabeth visit to the salt lakes

On day 3 of our 5 Day Kibale and Queen Elizabeth safari trip, we had an exciting transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and a visit to the Katwe salt lakes. We were able to take in the breathtaking views of the landscape as we drove through the park, and the anticipation of what we would see at the salt lakes was palpable. The Katwe salt lakes in Uganda are a unique and fascinating geological feature. The lakes are an important source of many minerals and salts, as well as being a major tourist attraction. The salt lakes are located among the rolling hills of the Katwe crater and are home to a large number of bird species. The surrounding landscape is a perfect backdrop for a peaceful and relaxing experience.

The Katwe salt lakes are a must-see for any traveler looking to explore the beauty and wonders of Uganda.

DAY 4; Game drive and afternoon Boat cruise

On day four of our 5-day Kibale and Queen Elizabeth safari trip, we will be embarking on a morning game drive and an afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park. During our game drive we may be able to observe the wildlife of the park including elephants, buffaloes, lions and kobs from the comfort of our safari vehicle as we drive through the savannah grasslands. Later we will be able to explore the park's diverse aquatic life on a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. Here will observe the parks rich birdlife and wildlife like hippos, crocodiles resting on the banks. It will be an exciting and memorable experience that will give us a unique perspective of the park and its inhabitants.

DAY 5; Inshasha climbing lions and back to Kampala

On day 5 of our 5 Day Kibale and Queen Elizabeth safari trip, we will be heading back to Kampala, but not before we have a once in a lifetime experience. We will be visiting Inshasha, a remote area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, to observe the unique climbing lions. Here, we will witness these majestic creatures scaling the trees and observe their natural behavior in their natural habitat. This will be a truly unforgettable experience that we will cherish forever.
